6th Platoon of 8th Company at King Mindaugas’ 10th Riflemen Battalion with Lithuanian Riflemen Union
In 2020, a group of patriot riflemen came together to form a combat unit that has been established as the 6th Platoon of 8th Company at King Mindaugas’ 10th Riflemen Battalion within Lithuanian volunteer paramilitary organization – The Lithuanian Riflemen Union (LRU). These riflemen have been in the union ranks for a few years now and some of them are the LRU members since 2014. All of the 6th platoon‘s riflemen have been through the Basic Riflemen Training Course (BRTC), including all necessary individual and collective combat skill training. Some of the platoon members have military service background as well as an active duty combat experience.
About: Mission
The platoon trains hard every week to maintain their combat readiness and often participates in exercises and training organized by the Lithuanian Armed Forces, General Jonas Zemaitis Lithuanian Military Academy, and the Lithuanian Riflemen Union; besides that, the team also has experience in joint exercises with NATO allies. The 6th platoon also takes part in the training process of the 10th Riflemen Battalion, passing on their experience to the BRTC trainees.

The riflemen also volunteer to a range of causes, while providing assistance to Lithuanian Government agencies and civil services during crisis situations, such as managing the COVID-19 situation, the migrant crisis, etc.

About: About
Riflemen are volunteers who belong to Lithuanian Territorial Defense units; they cooperate with State organizations and institutions to ensure public order and public safety, and devote their time and personal funds to the acquisition of necessary military equipment on pro bono basis. Their personal spending is considerable: They buy uniforms, equipment, weapons, ammunition, and other special equipment at their own expense as well as they go to training, and military exercises by their own transportation means with no reimbursement.

Modern warfare requires not only high physical and tactical readiness, adequate supplies, firepower and maneuverability, but also it‘s vital to use modern technology and integrate it into the operations of the combat unit, both in training and on the battlefield.

Special gear and equipment is needed for mobility, communications, planning, intelligence, and direct combat operations. These are the means of transport and radio communication, computer equipment, drones, video cameras, thermal imaging, optical, and night vision devices.

About: About

The 6th Platoon has already acquired some of the gear with personal and sponsor funds, but it is only a small part of the equipment needed to properly supply the platoon's riflemen, which is only possible with the help of the sponsors.

Today's ever-heating geopolitical situation calls for serious concern for the country's defense, but not all of the patriots have the physical ability to do this; despite that, they can make their large impact over Lithuania’s defense by supporting national combat units such as paramilitary riflemen. You‘re welcome to contribute to the defense of the homeland by supporting our platoon with equipment, gear, and funds that will be used to purchase supplies in need.
For the Country! TÄ—vynÄ—s labui!
